  • Overview

    Working with in the Digital Patient business unit, the applicant should be able to provide excellent analytical skills of key business requirements. They should be a good communicator and be able to convey the technical implementation of business requirements to various levels within the company, including development staff. They will be able to provide detailed technical guidance and mentoring for implementation teams in delivering and maintaining technical solutions. Support relationships with the other areas of the company to ensure that new requirements can be accommodated by existing architectures.

    The role will also require the development of specifications for current and anticipated systems to achieve a business objective. These shall include but not be limited to use cases, design documentation and other architectural artefacts.

    • To present a range of innovative solutions and options to business development of how to fulfil contracts using a combination of the existing product range, enhancements to existing products and additional products
    • To produce and present demonstrations and proof of concept applications which support and influence business development and marketing
    • To work through a project as a member of the development team, delivering product range enhancements, either as an additional resource or as technical lead
    • To maintain regular contact with the project management team, providing expertise and advice on how to fulfil the requirements of a service using the existing and planned product suite
    • To proactively seek opportunities to improve the range, structure and efficiency of the organisation’s products and services
    • To develop business plans for potential future products and services 
    • To be an accessible resource, providing advice on all aspects of existing and future products
    • To be actively involved, where required in the development of current and future products
    • To identify hardware, software and OS upgrades, that can help improve the products and services
    • To provide second and third tier support and maintenance of existing products and services


    Qualifications / Experience

    • Experience of analysis and architectural modelling & documentation techniques including User Stories, Use Cases and design specifications, and the ownership of those solutions through to delivery.
    • Excellent Knowledge of object oriented development techniques with particular emphasis on C# .NET & MVC environment
    • Excellent knowledge of web technologies and SQL Databases
    • Excellent knowledge SOA approach and web service technologies
    • Experience of the full SDLC ideally with an Agile approach
    • Experience in mentoring development team including definition and governance of development standards
    • Experience of working as a Technical Architect on large scale, enterprise class platforms with a strong emphasis on integration
    • TOGAF Certification is desirable
